I am so excited to announce the James T. Davis 2021 Colors of the Year! Six shades- bold, playful, and inspired by nature.
It was my honor to help choose this year’s colors. Having my home decor boutique, Katrina & Co. located inside James T. Davis is a dream come true. It's the perfect pairing of design and style. With home being more important than ever, now is the time to get it right. Follow along as I share my expert advice on how to use these colors! Time to create the home you love.
In 1936, James T. Davis Sr. founded the James T. Davis brand with a storefront in downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. Later, in 1967, he built a paint manufacturing facility with a desire to produce the highest quality paints for the store to distribute to the public. Since then Homeowners, contractors, and DIY'ers like myself have looked to James T. Davis for their unmatched professional advice.
Many of their paints & primers have Microban® antimicrobial product technology. This is a built-in active ingredient that enables products to resist the growth of microbes such as bacteria, mold, and mildew. Microban protection helps products stay cleaner, fresher, and last longer than products with untreated surfaces. #WINNING
The perfect neutral. Inspired by the softness of the clouds, Mystic Fog is a beautiful creamy white with pale gray undertones. This is the perfect wall color for large areas of your home. Our living room and kitchen are painted with Mystic Fog and I couldn't be happier about it!
Metro is a fan favorite! With warm undertones, it's the perfect shade for a bedroom. This color reminds me of cozy, winter days. A hint of color to drench the walls. It pairs beautifully with Mystic Fog for a monochromatic color palette.
This orange is bold, dynamic, & playful, and I am here for it! Marry with blues for a contrasting effect. Go lighter for a more summery feel. Bring it in pillows, and upholstery for the perfect pop.
Blue Depths is relaxing, peaceful, and tranquil. It is great to use on ceilings to bring in that designer touch. Contrast with whites and brass tones for that timeless southern charm feel. Our powder bath renovation embraces the power of this dynamic duo.
Subway is all things sophisticated. Deep bronze with grey and brown undertone it's perfect for making your walls or ceiling recede. This color is bold yet understated and works best in a room with lots of natural light. Below is our bathroom that was featured in HGTV Magazine.
Last, but certainly not least - I'm A Local is the most cheerful color in this 2021 colors of the year collection. It is saturated, sunny, and bold. This yellow shade can be brought into your home through warm brass tones, and pairs great with white. It's great for cabinets, powder baths, and even a piece of furniture. This color will surely brighten your mood.
There is a color for every household. Whether you go big on colorful patterns or stay monochromatic with neutrals. It's time to fully embrace home and the way it makes you feel. Live boldly!
