Hey friends, 
I’m Katrina!

Since high school I have been intrigued by interior decorating and design...hello 90’s! However, there weren’t many designers in the small town I grew up in, and I was told I couldn’t make a career of it unless I moved to a big city. The internet was just beginning and HGTV didn’t exist, so I decided instead to pursue the more traditional professional route and climb the corporate ladder. However, my life took a traumatic turn after my second child was born and I had to say goodbye to long days in the office and traveling cross-country for my career.

Over the next few years, while recovering from a series of surgeries, I began painting furniture, designing for clients, real estate staging, and selling decor at vintage markets. Then, in 2016, we took a huge risk and moved out to the country in order to renovate a 100-year-old farmhouse (lovingly named The Morris Manor). The home actually belonged to my husband Scott’s childhood best friend, and even sweeter, I saw Scott for the first time in this home. Each room, each layer of paint, each “let’s figure it out moment” brought a new sense of joy that we were bringing life back into this home. Eventually I started blogging and sharing all the details of our renovations, and soon after received an email from HGTV magazine. They loved our story and wanted to feature our home in the Fixer Upper Special Edition Publication alongside Chip and Joanna Gaines. That year was also the Fixer Upper farewell season on the HGTV network. The magazine sent an entire crew to our little town for a three-day photo shoot. It was amazing....and exhausting. That opportunity was such a blessing and just the beginning of our national exposure; since then, we have been featured in numerous national publications including Cottages & Bungalows, The Cottage Journal, HGTV Magazine, and Holiday Décor.

Fast forward to 2020 and Katrina & Co. was born. On March 6th, only one week before the start of a worldwide pandemic, I opened a brick and mortar shoppe inside of a local home improvement store. I am not even making that up! The months that followed were difficult to navigate, however, the challenges I faced only served to deepen my passion, develop my grit, and push my perseverance. My dreams and vision for the future of Katrina & Co. only grew out of that experience.

Most recently (Summer 2022) our family moved to Wilmington, NC to grow that dream even more. We are in the process of turning the main floor of the historic mayor’s office into our design/decor studio. Located in downtown Wilmington at 19N 5th Ave, our doors will be open in late fall 2022. We can’t wait to have you experience the new Katrina & Co. space, but in the meantime, all of our interior design services are available, and our online shoppe is open 24/7!

We have come a long way since 2016, but the years haven’t been easy. In fact, it has been a marathon with great success and tremendous failures. But, despite those challenges, I have had faith to stay the course and follow God’s calling on my life to positively impact others through my business. Throughout this entire journey, my passion for interiors and developing client/customer relationships has remained at the forefront of everything – it is my ‘why’. The opportunity I’m given each day to inspire and help create a home you love is an honor that I don’t take for granted. Truly, I hope to do more than fill your home with pretty decor. My desire is for you to share your heart through your home, and I hope my journey encourages you to take risks in order to LIVE a life full of joy and fulfillment.
