Every transformation tells a story, and this bathroom may be one of our favorites yet. What started as a dark, dated, and partially gutted space is now a polished retreat that blends timeless charm with modern details.

The Before

When we first walked into this bathroom, it was clear it had been left behind. Outdated wallpaper, broken tile, and old fixtures gave it a neglected feel. The small window brought in a little natural light, but overall the space felt dark, cramped, and anything but inviting.

Design Vision

Our goal was to create a bathroom that blended practicality with timeless beauty. We wanted to keep the character of the home but update it with fresh finishes, layered textures, and thoughtful details that would make the space feel polished and welcoming.

Our Process

We started by giving the room a stronger foundation. Wood paneling was installed and painted in a deep, warm tone to add contrast and depth. Above it, a subtle patterned wallpaper softened the space with texture and interest. The flooring was ripped out to feature the original wood, stained in a deep tone that instantly elevated the room and tied it back to the rest of the home.

A pedestal sink was chosen to keep the footprint feeling open, while a classic white toilet with a dark wood seat added a tailored touch. We brought in a woven basket, candle, and diffuser for layers of function and hospitality.

Lighting and mirrors were the jewelry of this bathroom. A bold, textural mirror framed the sink beautifully, while a statement fixture above it added just the right amount of sparkle. Together, they brought personality and a welcoming glow to the space.

The After

The result is a bathroom that feels fresh, timeless, and intentional. What was once overlooked and uninspired is now a polished retreat, layered with warmth and thoughtful details. Every choice — from the wood floors to the light fixture — works together to create a space that’s as functional as it is beautiful.

This transformation reminds us that even the most ordinary rooms can be elevated with vision, process, and attention to detail.
